The House of Vettii was built from several private houses that were joined together to form a single unit. Thus, the house has a second atrium in its northern part, and also the home sanctuary. The appearance of the garden corresponds to historical realities. Archaeologists have found the remains of the roots of trees and shrubs and have reconstructed the garden's overall appearance as it looked once.
