Highlights of Sintra and Cascais Trip, Portugal
On this tour, you will get to know the monuments of Sintra's heritage and all the incredible terrain that extends to Cabo da Roca, with a glorious coastline stretching to the Cascais village. It is no surprise that Sintra was classified as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee!
The tour starts with climbing the mountain to see the Moorish castle, whose walls were built in the era of Islamic occupation. Finally, we will see the royal palace - the Pena Palace, which served monks and a king of Portugal and was under construction at two different times. After that, we'll visit one of the most mysterious places in Sintra: Quinta da Regaleira, a place connected to Freemasonry that looks like a fairy castle, a place you cannot miss and a place you will want to discover thoroughly.
In Parque de Monserrate, you'll visit the palace built in a mixture of Arab and Indian styles and enjoy its blossoming botanical garden. There is a brief stop to taste our traditional pastry and learn its history, but don't tell anyone, it's a surprise! The trip will continue to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point in Europe, and follow the road along the coast, passing Guincho Beach and Boca do Inferno, and ending in Cascais.
You can go inside the monuments (considering the closing time) or take exterior pictures if you want to stay outside. This may change the estimated time for the end of the tour.
