Aquila Game Reserve. Full-day Traditional Big 5 Safari in Touws River, South Africa

On the full-day tour, you will visit Aquila Private Game Reserve, a private Game Reserve that is just less than 2-hour drive from Cape Town along a particularly scenic route. Named after the African black eagle, also known as Aquila Verreauxii, it is a prestigious 4-star getaway that is big on conservation, featuring rarely encountered and endangered animals. It was declared a nature reserve in 1985, standing on 4,500 hectares in southern Karoo highlands. There, you will find a landscape that will present you with rivers, mountains, dramatic gorges that are strewn with mountain fynbos and succulents and three valleys. Aquila has reintroduced wildlife in the Cape Town area, and its workers especially take pride in lions and lion cubs that they have managed to save from canned hunting. Typical for the Karoo, the wide-open spaces of Aquila Reserve host a wide range of game, including the Big Five. During the safari, you will see the Big Five game animals, including African bush elephant, black rhinoceros, lion, leopard and Cape buffalo. Being among the most famous African large animals, they represent a charismatic megafauna. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will observe a great diversity of wildlife and natural Karoo beauty with the opportunity to capture stunning wildlife photos and make African memories to last a lifetime.

9AM. Welcome drinks will be served upon your arrival.

9.15AM. You will have continental breakfast.

10.15AM. For 2-3 hours, you will go on the traditional Big 5 game drive.

12.45PM. South African style buffet lunch will be served. Then, you will have afternoon leisure time to enjoy the Karoo surroundings and other optional extra activities.

4PM. You will depart from Aquila.

Cancellation policy: 100% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 7 days or less prior to the event or in case of no-show. 50% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 8-21 days prior to the event. 30% cancellation fee will be charged if booking is cancelled 22-30 days prior to the event.
