Leaving the city of Salzburg and passing the legendary Untersberg Mountain, we cross the border to Germany. Our journey continues through an alpine valley along a Kings Lake mountain creek towards the Obersalzberg. Little is left to be seen the Third Reich except the Eagle’s Nest perched atop its summit. You may catch a glimpse of it as we head up the lower part of the mountain.

It is inside this mountain, however, that the real adventure begins: Donning traditional miner’s clothes, you enter the 500 year old mine by train to hear fascinating tales and facts about this underground world. Discover the charm of the magnificently illuminated subterranean landscape. Take the slides down to the salt lake which you will be crossing by boat.

After your 1.5 hour underground tour we will stop at Berchtesgaden, a picturesque alpine town, where you have the option of tasting some Bavarian specialties.
