Golden Lane arose after constructing the new northern wall of the castle. Small houses were built in the north bailey, which is the only small building left of Prague Castle. They housed the castle's defenders, servants, or, for example, jewelers and castle gunners. Before World War II, people lived in tiny houses, but during the First Republic, care was taken to make sure that redevelopment wouldn't change the alley's cute look.

Franz Kafka lived in house number 22 from 1916 to 1917. We will see his house, visit his favorite cafeteria, walk through the narrow streets of Prague, learn a lot about the lives of fellow citizens of Prague, and discover Kafka's prose in a new way.
