Your driver/guide will pick you up in Yerevan and take you to Garni, Armenia's only preserved pagan temple dating back to 77 AD. The temple sits on the edge of a triangular cliff overlooking the Azat River Gorge and the Gegham Mountains. The site is located in the village of Garni, in the Kotayk region of Armenia. It has a temple and a Roman bathhouse with a mosaic floor that has some Greek writing on it. Surely, you will be amazed by the beauty of the surrounding mountains!

Then you will go to the Geghard monastery complex, which is about 30 minutes away from Garni. It is well-known for its Armenian architecture from the 13th century. Some of the churches in the complex were skillfully carved out of a large rock. From the beginning, the complex was called Hayrivank (cave monastery). Later, it was renamed Geghard (spear) because the spear with which a Roman soldier pierced the side of Jesus Christ was kept in this monastery for many centuries. Because of its unique acoustics, Geghardavank serves as the best place to sing spiritual songs.

Your last stop will be at Garni Canyon, where you can see the beautiful columnar basalts that were formed by the lava flows. The basalt masses are broken up into multifaceted columns, which, due to the regularity of their shape, are called "basalt organ." After the tour, we will take you back to Yerevan.
