The Trou aux Cerfs volcano is in the middle of the island of Mauritius. It is no longer active. The volcano's crater was formed about 2 million years ago, during the second phase of volcanic activity, including the island. At the bottom of the crater is Lake Grand Bassin, to which local Hindu Mauritian families come to bring gifts to the goddess Ganges. A significant observation deck at the top of the volcano offers excellent panoramic views.

Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth is the most well-known geological feature on the island of Mauritius. It is a local landmark that shows how the island looked millions of years ago. This place is unique because of the bright colors of the volcanic rocks and the tropical plants that grow all around them. Another fantastic place you will visit is the highest waterfall in Mauritius, officially named after the famous French officer Charles Antoine on the island, but much better known as the Chamarel Waterfall. Different sources say the waterfall's main cascade height is between 88 and 125 meters.
