Gevorkian Winery, founded in 2006, produces wines exclusively from local Armenian grape sorts. It is also the only winery in Armenia to produce wines from raisin grapes according to the ancient Armenian technology "Kahani", winter wines "IceWine" and sparkling wines according to the old traditional technology "Ancestral".

Our expert will tell you about the history of the winery, the main stages of wine making, will conduct a professional tasting and give useful recommendations. In old Armenia monks used the traditional ancient technology of winemaking, the distinctive feature of which was aging in clay amphorae, called KARAS. When the wine was brewed in caras, the fermentation went on at a lower temperature. The wine became finer, more velvety and had a harmonious aroma which was so exquisite that the takarapets (cupbearers) who supplied the wine to the royal cellars, bought tons of it from the monk winemakers. Gevorkian Amphorae Wine Collection is a line of wines made according to the ancient monastic technology. They are aged for six months in ancient caras, which the winemakers get from abandoned vineyards.
