We've prepared two rich itineraries through some of Valencia's key sites. The red route runs through the eastern part of the old city, the blue route through the western part.
The red route: Valencia Classic
In Plaza de la Virgen you will learn about the Basilica of the Deprived and the symbolism of the Turia Fountain, and admire the Cathedral, where the Grail Cup is kept. We will talk about its mysteries, the Baroque main entrance and the tradition of distributing fresh water. Afterwards the program includes St. Catalina Church with its unusual bell tower and the Silk Exchange, a true temple of trade of the past, where you will examine gargoyles and openwork stone patterns. And in the green square of City Hall you will discover the Mudejar style, look at the palace-like post office and be fascinated by the flower stalls.
The same route will introduce you to the flavors of Valencia. In the shade of citrus trees in the Orchard of Oranges we will tell you about the importance of these fruits for the city and tell you where to taste two traditional drinks: the refreshing Agua de Valencia, the pride of Valencians, and the Orchata based on ground almonds. You will also get a taste of the Valencian flavor in the Central Market.
The blue route: Valencia elegant
We'll start with a story about the festival that transforms the Plaza de la Virgen into a field of flowers! Next, you will touch the distant past by seeing the excavations of the ancient Valencia, the Roman city of Valentia, literally under your feet. We will surprise you with the lace architecture of the Knitted House and the facts about the Roman entrance to the Cathedral. In Piazza de la Reina, you'll learn about the Miguellette Bell Tower and the best local cafes and bars. A separate topic will be the handicrafts of Valencia. You will discover the peculiarities of local ceramics near the museum in the luxurious palace of the Marquesas Dos Aguas. And in the boutique museum of the Lladro factory you will get to know the famous fine porcelain. At City Hall Square you will see the brightest Spanish festival Fallas, and afterwards you will see the huge bullring.
