You will meet your guide in one of Venice's most original locales, the Rialto Fish Market, which is boisterous, raw, natural, and full of real Venetian life. Fish is carefully piled on booths covered with thick layers of crushed ice; birds walk among the fishmongers announcing the day's catch, and Venetians peruse the stalls sprinkled throughout the two rooms of the "Pescheria" as generations of Venetians have done for the previous 800 years!
When you select the best fish, you will cross the Canal Grande on a gondola ferry, most likely alongside local housewives rushing to get home. A 15-minute stroll via secret "calles" will bring you to Fondamente Nove, where you will catch a Vaporetto, to Murano, where the cooking will occur. You will prepare your lunch with a native Venetian while sipping prosecco, nibbling on appetizers, and admiring the canal vista from the dining room.
The traditional menu may consist of biological sun-dried tomatoes, Italian vegetable antipasti as an appetizer, a spritz, and the Aperitivo cocktail made from the white wine and Aperol/Campari/Cynar/and other wines. First course: spaghetti all busara (spaghetti with tomatoes and stewed crayfish): a traditional Venetian recipe for a delicious dish. It is regarded as one of the essential dishes in Venetian cuisine. The second main course: is baked seabass with potatoes; heating in the oven will retain the fresh and natural flavor of the fish and the Adriatic Sea, which the flavors of exquisite herbs and spices will complement. The lunch will conclude with a cup of strong Italian coffee prepared in a Moka machine.
