Blue Sevan and Evergreen Dilijan Tour in Yerevan, Armenia
While in Armenia, you should not miss out on seeing one of the country's most famous landmarks, the beautiful Lake Sevan. Only an hour's drive from Yerevan, this beautiful place is located 1900 meters above sea level and is surrounded by a long chain of mountains. We start our tour by climbing the Sevan peninsula and creating our day with the fantastic lake view from the top. We will also go to the magnificent Sevanavank monastery, which Princess Mariam built in the 9th century, to honor her late husband.
Then, our tour will take you to the north of Armenia, where you will fully immerse yourself in stunning natural beauty. We are heading to Dilijan, the "Armenian Switzerland." You will visit the Haghartsin monastery, which dates from the 10th to the 14th centuries. The name translates as "the eagles' play." It's one of those Armenian locations that feels like a breathtaking, surreal movie set. Haghartsin's refectory is the largest in Armenian church architecture; it was a true innovation of its time! Following a traditional lunch, you will visit one of Armenia's most beautiful small lakes, Lake "Parz," which means "Pure." You will stop on your way to the lake to feed the deer at the deer farm.
