8-day Azores Diving Tour, Portugal

You have the remarkable opportunity to join the diving trip to the Azores, an archipelago composed of nine volcanic islands and lost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Most divers consider this location as one of the best in the world. Only 2 hours away by plane from Lisbon, the tour will offer you an 8-day program with 5 diving days. There, you will frequently encounter whale sharks, mantas and amberjacks. The air temperature will vary from 12 to 25 °C, while the water temperature will be between 16 and 24 °C. You will be able to tailor the tour program according to your needs and preferences.

Day 1. You will arrive at the Santa Maria International Airport and go to the hotel that will be your base camp for the next eight days. 

Day 2-6. You will head to a diving center. The locations will include the marine reserve area of the Baixa do Ambrósio or Ambrósio Reef. It is one of the most visited and sought-after spots for diving. Although the bottom depth is 50 meters, you can choose to stay on the rope between 2 and 15 meters. It will be enough to observe the huge shoals of fish and devil rays. This place will also be fantastic for snorkeling. Then, you will visit the Cave Azul. Translated from Portuguese as 'Blue Cave' and 13 meters deep, it features 3 different exits, excellent light effects, various types of colorful sponges and small nudibranchs adorning the walls.

Day 7. You will spend a relaxing day on a beach.

Day 8. This will be the departure day.
