The archaeological excavations of Herculaneum have returned the remains of the ancient residential city, buried under a blanket of lava, ash, lapilli and mud during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79, together with Pompeii, Stabia and Oplonti.
A professional private guide is highly recommended to better visit in detail and relax in its most important structures. The guide is on request to help you skip the long lines at the ticket office and is not included in the tour price. A 2-hour visit is scheduled.
