Epidaurus and Mycenae Full-day Tour from Athens

Take this tour from Athens and explore with your guide the ancient city of Mycenae, a principal city of the Greek civilization, and the ancient theater of Epidaurus! Leave by the coastal road along the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (with a short stop). We drive to Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Homeric city of Atreides, the so-called "city rich in gold," according to the ancient poets. We visit the Lion's Gate, the Cyclopean Walls, the Royal Tombs, and the Treasury of Atreus. Then we depart for Nauplion (and will have a short photo stop) through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestled at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress. The last stop will be Epidaurus (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) to visit the theatre (4th century B.C.), famous for its astonishing acoustics. Return to Athens by the national road connecting Epidauros with Corinth.
